Last year in Victoria St John First Aid volunteers donated more than 154,000 hours of service and treated in excess of 23,100 casualties. They provide free First Aid at public gatherings such as the ANZAC Parade, Formula 1 Grand Prix, Melbourne Cup, Moomba Festival, Royal Agricultural Show and other local functions, and at sporting events such as Australian Football League games, horse racing carnivals and many local sporting events.

Incidents range from minor blisters and grazes to cardiac arrests and in every case the St John volunteers are equipped to manage the emergency.

The youngest volunteers join the Juniors at age 8 and learn basic First Aid. Cadets are aged between 11-18. They develop extensive First Aid skills and attend public events to perform First Aid with adult supervision. Adult First Aid volunteers form the largest group of St John volunteers. They enjoy an excellent reputation as First Aid professionals and deliver a first class service.
